Communion to the Sick

No baptized Catholics, no matter his physical condition, should be deprived of the Bread of Life, which is essentially food for the soul.

The Ministry for the Sick was set up specifically to cater to the needs of the Sick & Infirm of the parish (a.k.a. Homebound Parishioners). The members come from all walks of life with a mission to serve those unable to attend mass and receiving Holy Communion regularly.

Besides giving Holy Communion weekly after the weekend masses, the ministry members would also arrange for the homebound parishioners to have their Confessions during Lent for Easter and Advent for Christmas.

This ministry also manages and coordinates the parish’s annual Anointing of the Sick Mass – a mammoth event that truly brings spiritual happiness to the sick and elderly.

To gain spiritual strength in their on-going service for this humble ministry, the members would gather together for prayers fortnightly either at members’ home or at the home of the homebound parishioners, or at the church prayer room. This, in effect, is a formation of a Small Christian Community whereby members and their families pray and have fellowship together.

If you have a family member, or know of any relatives, or neighbours in the parish needing such help, do fill up a detailed registration form and submit it to the Church for processing and followup.

If you feel you have the passion to serve in this ministry, whether to cater to the needs of a family member or others in the parish, pick up an application form and submit it to the Church. The ministry needs more passionate and committed brothers and sisters to join them in this humble service for the glory of God.
